What is Cupping Massage?

Short answer, it’s a form of deep tissue massage. It usually does leave bruises, but the bruising does not hurt. Please see my post about Cupping Massage for more details.

Do I have to get naked?

Undress as much as you are comfortable. You will be properly draped under a sheet and blanket for the entirety of your session.

What if I need to cancel my appointment? Will I be charged a fee?

I understand that “life” happens and sometimes clients need to cancel appointments. I do not charge a fee unless a client is a repeat offender when it comes to last minute cancellations and no shows.

Do you sell gift certificates?

I sure do! You can even purchase them online!

I have a migraine, can you get rid of it?

There are plenty of studies that prove the effectiveness of massage relieving tension headaches, but there is little to no proof that massage can relieve a migraine headache. It really is a personal judgement call. If your migraine is leaving you feeling dizzy and nauseous, maybe braving traffic to come get a massage isn’t the best option at the moment.

Do you accept tips/gratuity?

Yes, but it’s not necessary. I set my prices to ensure that I earn a fair wage while still being able to cover my overhead. Honestly, I’d rather you take whatever money you’d give as a gratuity and put it towards your next massage.

How much water should I drink after a massage?

The concept of drinking water after a massage to “flush toxins” is a myth. If you get thirsty, I do have bottled water for clients on hand.

Do I talk/not talk during the massage?

It’s up to you! If you feel like talking, then by all means, strike up a conversation. If you want to keep quiet and drift off to your own island in your head, then go for it. It’s your massage, do whatever feels best for you.

I have an injury, should I still get a massage?

It depends on the injury. Acute injuries are normally avoided during massage. If you’re currently doing rehab or physical therapy, then massage can be a great tool for speeding up the recovery process.

Do you do house calls?

I only do house calls for special occasions such as spa or bridal parties.

Do you accept insurance?

I am coded to accept Flex Spending Account and Health Savings Account cards if your insurance plan offers one.

*Please remember that HSA/FSA cards cannot be used to purchase gift cards, massage packages, or any promotions/discounts.*

Do you work on children/teenagers?

Young athletes need bodywork too! All clients under the age of 18 are required to have a parent or guardian sign the massage intake form. Parents/guardians are also allowed in the treatment room during the massage of a minor. I do give all minors a $10 discount on all services.
